Thing 12: Embedded Slide Shows
I thought I knew how to make a slide show, but in the 21st century, all old dogs must learn new tricks to be visually literate! Behold my efforts, using photos from Flickr’s Creative Commons section and the slide show creating website, BubbleShare.

Thing 11 recorded some of my learning curve frustrations in finding my photos. I had a certain message and “look” that I wanted, and sifting through about 84,000+ pictures was challenging. If I had been more open or had a certain theme that I was after, my task would have been much easier.
Nevertheless, I believe I accomplished what I hoped to do: make a middle school worthy teaser for The Giver.

Great slide show teaser, Amy! Good Job! …And we’re all in this together. Just trying to survive one “thing” at a time. Like you, I really enjoy it, but I need to spend a lot more time at it than I have, unfortunately. …Your students will like this!
