Two “things” that I really wanted to do in this online course were get a Skype account and learn about Delicious–and I did both today! I’m still waiting to hear back from most of my Skype contacts, but my Delicious account is thriving.
Depending on the day, I go back and forth between Firefox and IE, [...]

Well, my RSS feeds have been filled with NECC chatter! Every one of my gurus went and had so much to share. One of my favorite blogs is Vicki Davis’ Cool Cat Teacher, and her NECC to Me: Ten of My Takeaways was probably my favorite of my feeds over the last two weeks because [...]

Of all the 2.0 tools that we explored, I’ll work the hardest to put Quizlet, Gliffy, and Mnemograph to work the quickest this year.
I hate to admit it: I’m probably the last teacher in the known world to put Quizlet to work. Last year, I knew about the site, but thought of it in terms [...]

I enjoy attending a good conference. Last year I attended ISTE’s NECC in Atlanta in June, 2007, as well as three years of Georgia’s GaETC the last three Novembers. I learned a lot, and I was inspired by the sheer energy and ideas surrounding me.
Although I love the face to face experience, attending an asynchronous, [...]

I learned a lot about navigating through the Flickr site, as well as locating photos on the Creative Commons [...]

I first heard about Creative Commons last year at the GaETC in November. I was excited by the ideas but, as usual, too busy with life and school to pursue possibilities.
Then I learned more about CC from SB and JO, my two tech gurus at school. Now I was really excited. “I’ll investigate this summer [...]

My students love Wikipedia, and always ask if they can use it as a source. We’ve had discussions about the validity and reliability of public editing and about appropriate sources. In truth, Wikipedia is a great place to start online thinking. You get a quick and dirty overview, pictures, and further references. It looks good.

I was familiar with wikis before this assignment because I collaborated on a portion of a university instructional technology wiki for a graduate class. The process was easy, and I learned a lot about wikis and about the many IT topics that our class investigated; but I must say the thing I [...]

I love the Teton Mountains in Wyoming! From Jackson Hole up to Yellowstone (and up to Glacier National Park, if you care to know) runs some on the most beautiful and fantastic land in God’s creation. Live on the land and love it!
I decided that I’d create two news feeds: one on the Tetons and [...]
